Jobs

Passionate team members wanted for hazardous journey. Low wages, bitter cold, long hours of complete darkness. Intense learning curve. Safe return doubtful. Honour and recognition await those who return.

Behavioral AI Research Engineer

Calling extraordinary Behavioral AI Research Engineers.

We’re building systems that can understand people not just their words, but their states of mind. We’re looking for someone who can decode human behaviour across multiple signals, voice, facial expression, micro-movement, and interaction style to help our AI interpret how people feel, react, and think. This role blends behavioral science, multimodal data analysis, and AI intuition. You’ll design frameworks for capturing emotion, engagement, and intent from raw human data, and work closely with our ML and product teams to translate those insights into intelligent systems.

What You’ll Do

You will work with our Products and Leadership Teams at the forefront of AI and healthcare to design next-generation experiences for patients.

  • Analyze vocal and facial data to identify behavioral and emotional signatures.

  • Build mappings between low-level signals (pitch, prosody, gaze, expression dynamics, micro-movements) and higher-level states (confidence, curiosity, empathy, stress, etc.).

  • Work with ML engineers to develop feature extraction and annotation pipelines for both voice and video streams.

  • Research and prototype behavioral models that combine multimodal inputs — speech, facial cues, conversational rhythm.

  • Conduct experiments and literature reviews on social signal processing, affective computing, and human-AI interaction.

  • Help define the “behaviour understanding layer” for our AI agents — the bridge between human affect and machine response.

Requirements:

  • Experience in cognitive science, psychology, neuroscience, linguistics, or signal processing.

  • Comfortable working with audio and video analytics (librosa, openSMILE, OpenFace, MediaPipe, Affectiva, etc.).

  • Strong analytical and conceptual skills — able to combine data-driven and theory-driven reasoning.

  • Experience designing or evaluating behavioral metrics (engagement, empathy, stress, tone, turn-taking).

A Few Example Projects:

  • Personal care for cancer patients.

  • Jails and prisons predicting suicide, violence, addiction, and recidivism.

  • Identifying PTSD and TBI in front line combat troops.

  • Homeless organizations identifying people who can be helped off the street.

  • Neurologists creating a neurological exam.

  • Discovering end points for clinical trials

  • Oncologists predicting drug timing for cancer patients.

  • Predicting treatment responses for psychiatry patients.

  • Many, many more.

Why You’ll Love Working With Us

This isn’t just a job; it’s a mission. Your contributions will directly influence major new areas of study in healthcare, making a difference in the lives of many. You’ll work in a fast-paced startup environment that values innovation and rapid progress.

Our team is our greatest asset, and we believe in fostering an environment that’s collaborative and supportive. You’ll have the opportunity to work alongside and learn from our founders, directors, and individual researchers, gaining insights that will propel your career.
